Kallman Legal Group is a Lansing, Michigan law firm. We represent a wide variety of clients and cases. The firm was started as a solo practice by David Kallman in November of 1982. Since then, we have successfully represented clients from District Court all the way up to the Michigan Supreme Court and Federal Courts.
Our practice covers the State of Michigan. We have also handled cases in Wisconsin, Illinois, Idaho, Indiana, and Ohio. We have done legal work in all the major cities in lower Michigan, including Lansing, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Saginaw, and Detroit. We have also handled federal cases in both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the Federal 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.

CURRENT CASES
Karl Manke Case
Karl Manke, the 77-year old Owosso, Michigan, barber is under attack by Governor Whitmer’s administration for safely opening his barber shop and cutting hair. The State brought three separate legal actions against Mr. Manke. First, the county prosecutor charged Karl with criminal misdemeanor violations for allegedly violating Governor Whitmer’s Executive Orders (EO). Second, the State health department (MDHHS) brought legal proceedings against Mr. Manke. Third, the State’s licensing department, LARA, brought licensing actions againt Mr. Manke’s licenses.
Takings Lawsuit
Bowling centers, roller skating rinks, and other businesses were targeted by Governor Whitmer’s administration for closure for approximately eight months last year. Since they were forced to remain closed, they should be compensated by Defendants for the value of their business which they have worked for decades to build. The complaint alleges that the State of Michigan has violated both the Federal and Michigan Constitutions by taking Plaintiffs’ businesses for a public use without just compensation. Plaintiffs are asking the Court to award damages for the unlawful taking of their business property.
KEITH WOOD CASE
Keith Wood was arrested for simply handing out brochures about jury rights on a public sidewalk in front of a courthouse. We are representing Mr. Wood and fighting to protect his free speech rights.
GRAND LEDGE PUBLIC SCHOOLS WRONGFUL DEATH CASE
Grand Ledge Public Schools Wrongful Death Case – A lawsuit was filed in the Eaton County Circuit Court because Defendants negligently drove a school bus through a crosswalk which struck and killed a student.
